Thank you once again, Karen, for your advice on the subject of selling as I do think it can be a minefield at times. Yes, and it can take a while before we are at ease with it.
The area for me is the negotiation of price reductions in venues I hire – this is deep breathing time beforehand!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment Irene – I love a bit of interaction! Selling and negotiating are two different things & it might be useful to remember that negotiation is not about ‘haggling’ – it’s about reaching a mutually acceptable agreement. My advice would be to try and not make price the only factor on which to negotiate, as that doesn’t give either party much flexibility. Agree totally about the deep breathing -it helps every time!

    Hi Karen,
Thanks for that great advice. I find ‘selling’ hard like a lot of people. When I went into business I didn’t think about selling my services, I thought that somehow my clients would come flocking and I’d spend my time delivering my core services! I’m going to try and make that shift to clarifying – I’ll let you know how I get on : )
    Thanks again.
    Best wishes,
    Sally.
